Anti-plagiarism Policy
The editorial board of the journal "Journal of Mechanical Engineering and Transport" informs the authors that they are solely responsible for incorrect borrowing or use of the research results of others and compliance with the ethics of scientific citation. Only original materials that have not been published before are accepted for publication.
Authors should ensure:
- the originality of the submitted articles, i.e. materials that have not been published in other editions in any language;
- absence of plagiarism;
- references to relevant sources, if works or texts of third parties are used.
The journal "Journal of Mechanical Engineering and Transport" uses the Unicheck software to control and detect textual borrowing in submitted manuscripts. The percentage of plagiarism is calculated using software that checks documents for borrowings both in the local database and on the Internet. The resulting report is analysed by the editorial board.
The editorial board analyses all cases of recorded plagiarism and reserves the right to exclude the manuscript from the review process. The scientific papers received by the editorial board are analysed according to the following criteria:
- if the originality of the manuscript text is more than 85%, the material is accepted for review;
- if the originality of the work is between 75 and 85%, the scientific work is returned to the authors for revision with a recommendation to revise the textual borrowings and resubmit the revised article;
- less than 75% - the manuscript is not accepted for consideration;
- no more than 3% plagiarism from one source is allowed.
Plagiarism in all forms is unacceptable and is considered as a manifestation of unethical actions and a violation of the system of professional behaviour in the relations between authors, reviewers, editors, publishers and readers, which contradicts the provisions of the Publication Ethics section. If the fact of textual borrowing was recorded after publication, the Editorial Board conducts a thorough analysis of it. The editorial board will contact the author and inform him/her about the circumstances.
